Community Guidelines

What these guidelines cover

They apply to everything you post or create on Motexiz: messages in match rooms, your username and avatar, and the names and descriptions of groups. They are part of the Terms of Use.

Talk football, with respect

Back your team, argue about the referee, celebrate the winner. Criticise players, clubs and decisions — not people's identities.

Not allowed

• Harassment and bullying — targeting someone, piling on, or following them from room to room to abuse them.
• Threats and violence — threatening anyone, or encouraging violence, including “jokes” about hurting someone.
• Hate — attacking people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any similar characteristic.
• Sexual or graphic content.
• Impersonation — pretending to be another person, a player, a club, a journalist or Motexiz.
• Scams and fraud — fake offers, requests for money, “sure wins”, or anything designed to trick people.
• Spam — repeated messages, flooding, advertising, or posting the same thing across rooms.
• Illegal content — anything that breaks the law or promotes breaking it.
• Other people's private information — phone numbers, addresses, emails, account details, or anything that identifies someone who hasn't chosen to share it.
• Content you don't have the right to share — copyrighted articles, videos or images that aren't yours.
• Harmful links — links to malware, phishing or scams.

Play fair

• Predictions and Game Points — no multiple accounts, automation or exploiting bugs to push up your points, your rank or a group's standings.
• Polls — no multiple accounts or automation to sway a poll.
• Leaderboards — no coordinated schemes to rig them.
• Scraping — don't collect Motexiz content, data or users' profiles with bots or scripts.
• Attacks — don't try to break, overload or get around the security of Motexiz or anyone else's systems.

If you find a bug that gives you points you shouldn't have, please tell us at info@motexiz.com instead of using it.

How match rooms work

• You need a username to post.
• Before a message appears, an automatic filter checks it. Messages with abusive language, threats, hate, contact details or links are not posted, and you'll be told the message can't be sent.
• To keep rooms readable, you can post one message every two seconds.
• You can delete your own messages.
• Rooms are temporary: messages are not saved, and they disappear once a room goes quiet.

Reporting

If you see something that breaks these guidelines, report it: press on the message and choose Report, then pick a reason (abuse, spam or something else). The person you report isn't told who reported them.

A copy of the reported message is kept with the reason so it can be reviewed — for up to one year from when the report is made, whether or not either account still exists, and then it is permanently deleted, unless a legal obligation or a security investigation requires us to keep it longer (see the Privacy Policy).

What happens when someone breaks the guidelines

• The automatic filter stops many messages before anyone sees them.
• Reported messages are reviewed by Motexiz.
• Depending on how serious it is and whether it keeps happening, we may remove content, limit someone's ability to post, or suspend or close their account. Where the law requires it, we may report content to the authorities.
