Prediction & Game Points Rules

Making a prediction

• For each match you pick one result: home win, draw or away win.
• You get one prediction per match. Once it's made, it can't be changed or removed.
• When you've predicted a match, it shows as “Called”.
• You need a Motexiz account to predict.

When predictions lock

You can predict a match while it is still scheduled and before kick-off. From kick-off, predictions for that match are closed.

Predictions are also closed for a match that has already been rescheduled to more than 30 days after its original scheduled kick-off (see Postponed below): a prediction on it could not count. A prediction you made before the match was moved stays as it is and is settled by the rules below.

How predictions are settled

• A prediction is settled on the 90-minute result: the score at the end of normal time, including stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs don't count.
• Results come from our football data provider, API-FOOTBALL (API-SPORTS). Motexiz settles every prediction on its servers from the stored result; nothing you send can change it.
• A correct prediction earns +1 GP. An incorrect one earns 0 GP. There are no negative points.

Matches that don't finish normally

A void prediction earns 0 GP and doesn't count for or against your accuracy — as if it had never been made.

Cancelled or abandoned

Your prediction is void.

A postponement doesn't void your prediction straight away. It stays waiting while the match is rescheduled. The 30 days below always count from the match's original scheduled kick-off — never from a new date.

• Played within 30 days of its original scheduled kick-off: your prediction is settled on that match's 90-minute result — +1 GP if you were right, 0 GP if not.
• Rescheduled to a date more than 30 days after its original scheduled kick-off: your prediction is void, even if the match is played later.
• Still postponed with no new date 30 days after its original scheduled kick-off: your prediction is void.
• Cancelled or abandoned instead: your prediction is void.

The same rule applies whenever our football-data provider gives a match a new scheduled kick-off — including a suspended match (below).

Suspended or interrupted

Your prediction stays waiting until our football-data provider reports the match as finished, cancelled or abandoned. While the match waits to resume on its original kick-off, there is no time limit.

If the provider gives a suspended match a new scheduled kick-off, that counts as rescheduling it, and the 30-day rule in Postponed applies — counted from the original scheduled kick-off, never from the new date.

• Finished on its original kick-off, or on a new date within 30 days of it: settled on the normal 90-minute rule.
• Given a new date more than 30 days after its original scheduled kick-off: your prediction is void, even if the match is played later.
• Cancelled or abandoned: your prediction is void.

Missing, corrected or wrong data

• Missing result: a prediction stays waiting until a final result is available.
• Corrected result: Game Points are always worked out from the latest stored result. If the provider corrects a score, the prediction — and your GP, rank and accuracy — follow the corrected result automatically, even after they were first shown.
• Wrong data: if you believe a result is wrong, tell us at info@motexiz.com.
• GP corrections: Game Points awarded because of an error — a data error, a bug, or misuse — can be corrected or removed.

Seasons and leaderboards

• Game Points count within a season; a new season starts from 0, and past seasons are kept in your history.
• Leaderboards show every player who has a username, ranked by GP, with their avatar, country (if they added one) and accuracy — the share of their decided predictions that were correct. There is a global leaderboard and one for each country.
• Your individual predictions are never shown to other players.

Groups

• You can create up to 3 groups a season and join up to 20 others. A group has up to 100 members.
• A prediction counts toward a group if you made it after the group was created — even if you joined the group later.
• A group runs until its season ends, or until its admin closes it.
• When a group finishes, its top player earns the Group Winner badge.
• The person who creates a group is its admin. If the admin deletes their account, the group passes to the member who has been in it the longest.

What Game Points are — and aren't

Game Points are a measure of how well you predict. They:

• have no monetary value;
• cannot be withdrawn;
• cannot be exchanged for money, goods or services;
• cannot be sold, bought or transferred;
• are not a currency.

No money is involved in predictions at any point.

Fair play

Using more than one account, automation, or a bug to gain Game Points, climb a leaderboard or win a group is not allowed (see the Community Guidelines). We may correct Game Points and take action on accounts involved.

Older prediction types

Earlier versions of Motexiz also offered double chance, both teams to score and total goals. New predictions of those types can no longer be made; ones already made keep their result and points.
